Ramblers Rest Resort

This is a first,
Sandi and I are actually writing this blog together :)

We are still in Venice having a fun week of R&R.
Staying put for a while allows us to meet more people and do more things.  With 600 sites this place has a lot of happy people and all the amenities.

That's me hunting for shark teeth near the Venice pier.  Found a few nice ones!
All settled in for a week at our new camp site.
Canopy at Jelks Park a nice hike interrupted by wild hogs burrowing deep crevices making it a tough hike and a scary one not knowing till we left that they were kind of afraid of us.  We ran out after seeing one!!!
Ah, Papa John,  Better ingredients, better pizza!!  John made the best Shrimp and Scallop scampi pizza.  Thanks Ray the scallops were sweet and the pizza was delish!!!
Some of  the horseshoe pits here at the Ramblers Rest.
                                            Wood working shop
Awesome heated pool and jacuzzi hot tub.
Free pool at the Pool Room
                                            Fishing Pier on the river
We sat in this park by the river and saw a Bald Eagle fly by, very close to check us out.
Sorry we were not fast enough with the camera to capture it but they are magnificent creatures!  What a spiritual moment.
Brrrrr, Its 60 degrees, I'M FREEZING!!!
Stopped by to see another Jayco just like ours.  The people who owned it were from Tennessee and playing great music out front. John brought out his harmonica and they jammed all afternoon.  He sounded so good that they want us to stay and join the "band"!  Fun!
Fresh Gulf Shrimp appetizer, YUM!  The best large shrimp I ever had!!

This is our last day in Venice.  We'll be back next year..  Tomorrow we're off for Ft. Myers Beach!
